Grimm (2011)

Recently I’ve started watching Grimm. I probably shouldn’t have an opinion yet, because I’m only on season 1. At first I was doubtful about this series. It’s not the sort of thing I’d normally watch, but actually, I really like it. I like the main characters and the plot takes up enough of my attention that I can focus on it, which is great and the real reason I’m watching in the first place.

This is the short description from IMDB:

A homicide detective discovers he is a descendant of hunters who fight supernatural forces.

The homicide detective’s name is Nick Burkhardt. He has a partner, Hank Griffin, and during the course of his first investigation as a Grimm (‘hunter who fights supernatural forces’), Nick gets to know Monroe, who is a clock maker, nerd and a sort of werewolf (?) called something or other in German. In fact, since the brothers Grimm were German and most of the fairy tales in their collection are from Germany, I’m assuming that all the German names are a sort of wink to that.

Nick and Hank are really cute together and the friendship between Nick and Monroe is really sweet too.

So far I’m really enjoying this series and I’m going to continue watching it until the end, unless later seasons are of lower quality. Fortunately, there are several more to look forward to.
